SOLO SHOW June 27, 2019 until Labor Day weekend

Momentum Gallery in Asheville, NC offers works in oil paint/mixed media on linen or on wood panel in sizes from 30 X 40” up to 60 X 96” along with a selection of works on paper.

It was a beautiful trip to Asheville and a joyful celebration at the opening. As the show draws to a close, I feel deeply grateful for all the support the work received. There were 12 paintings on veiw and during the show, Momentum has made 12 sales! A new book about my work called “Setting Shapes” with an essay by The Brooklyn Museum Curator Emerita, Charlotte Kotik is available through the Momentum Gallery website. Several new major paintings including “Pearson’s Falls, Sunlit” at 76 X 60” (SOLD) and The Beginning of Beginnings at 58 X 60” (SOLD) are featured in this show.

I had a great time with Master Printer Brandon graving at her workshop in North Adams, MA. We worked for two days and got this monoprint and its ghost print from her huge press. I look forward to more of this kind of fun. detail, Water Falling, Rocks Fallen, Ink Pressing on Paper, 2019 Monoprint, full image 38 X 50” I might be making oil paint mixed media versions over the ghost print and the ghost of the ghost print. Lots to think about. Brandon Graving, Gravity Experimental Press, Master Printer, North Adams MA

MONOPRINTING!!! Here’s an example of a monoprint made at the Woodstock School of art in 2018. “Swimming with Ghosts” is a “ghost print”— a second pull without re-inking the plate. Available from the Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn. (Lisa Mackie, Master Printer).
